How did this crazy idea start?

To be honest, the idea of walking the 3 UK peaks was borne out of anger and frustration. It's deeply upsetting to have friends suddenly diagnosed with breast cancer and once that initial shock passed, the anger and frustration at the unfairness and my inability to fix them set in.

I therefore decided to channel that anger into something positive. I'd heard about the 3 peaks challenge and knew someone who had completed it and thought this could be a great opportunity to raise awareness, money for charity and get fit in the process!

After deciding to embark on the challenge, the next question was, which of my mates could I ask to join me? Thankfully one my oldest friends came to the rescue and after some research, we signed up with Bookitlist.com. The deposit was paid and that was it, no going back from there!!

That was, the 1st week of January and since then, I've been training, hard! It's mostly been 6 days a week and a mix of running, walking and resistance training. I'll go into more detail in later blogs as well as kit lists, products etc.

To close out this 1st blog, here's some pics of walks to date. The weather has been mostly very kind (long may that last!).
